On 26 September 2024 is the next European Day of Languages

Let’s celebrate European Day of Languages together again!

Throughout Europe, 800 million Europeans are represented in the Council of Europe’s 47 member states. All are encouraged to discover more languages at any age, as part of or alongside their studies.
The Council of Europe is the continent’s leading human rights organisation and is convinced that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of our continent. Therefore, the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, promotes plurilingualism in the whole of Europe.

At the Council of Europe’s initiative, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September.

The European Day of Languages is being supported and coordinated by the European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe.
It namely aims to promote the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe and lifelong language learning.

Why not check out their website http://www.coe.int/EDL and look for an event in your country and probably even near you?

Languages play such a crucial role in our daily lives, not only as a tool for communication, work and business, yet also for education, social integration and personal development.

At AVALON we are delighted to participate in next year’s European Day of Languages and encourage you to join all others.
Have a nice Languages Day!
